Today was another day of hill repeats for Steve and I on the switchbacks to Emerald Park. My legs were feeling tired from the past several days of riding, so we ended up doing only 2 rather than the usual 3. From bottom to top it's about 6.5 minutes and when you get to they top there's a great view of the Arkansas River and the cliffs of Emerald Park.
And, if you're daring enough to walk to the edge of the cliff, wild berries to snack on. Very delicious.

Fido's toy basket
I know. I know. All I have posted on this blog so far are pictures of Fido and Scooter. Still, this one deserves to be posted IMHO.

Can't believe it's difficult to pass an ordinance restricting horses from Big Dam Bridge: http://ping.fm/jIlge
Scooter's surgery
Scooter had her surgery today to remove the remaining bit of arm bone and close up the cavity. That meant two visits to the vet and plenty of worrying in between. Meanwhile, I was supposed to get a bike ride in as well as a run (if I really am intending to do those Xterra's in June) and I really needed to spend 30 minutes with the yoga DVD. Then, there were the usual activities: work, Fido, dinners, litter box, etc.
The good news is Scooter is doing well, but has a huge, stapled wound that runs practically the length of her body. I'll keep her well medicated for the next couple days.
I also scored some homegrown summer squash for $1/lb. from a house I passed by on my bike ride.

Vacation over
Arrived back in Little Rock yesterday after spending 5 fantastic days in Boston and the Cape for my friend's wedding. After picking up Fido from the Pet Resort this morning, the gang is all back together. Fido and Scooter were especially happy to see each other.
